The Surfrider Foundation is a community of everyday people who passionately protect our oceans and coastlines. By engaging environmental experts to create solutions to protect the coast, what started as a small group of passionate surfers has grown into on of the most powerful coastal protection groups in the world on a local, regional and national level.

Surfrider chapters everywhere organized events focused on beaches, shorelines and waterways, and volunteers had the option of collecting debris or sorting it. In two hours alone, over 7000 cigarette butts were collected and microplastics were rampant.

Are there any great environmental clean-ups happening in your community that we should be at? Let us know in the comments below!
